If you want to improve your exercise performance, you should take 3 to 5 grams of L-citrulline per day or 6 to 8 grams of citrulline malate per day accordingly. Optimally, you should ingest citrulline about 15-30 minutes before training – but also during or after training if desired.


Little peer-reviewed scientific information regarding effective dosages of citrulline are available. However, a 2008 study published by the British Journal of Nutrition found that short-term supplementation of citrulline in 2 to 15 g doses is safe and well-tolerated.
